Say the load is not sustainable. Keep your job and your standard.
The conversation you have been postponing has a structure. This program builds it — the brief, the opening, and the fallback if they say no.
You already know the load is wrong.
You have been waiting for a better week. There is no better week.
- →High performers and leads covering more than one role without the title or the pay
- →People whose real work happens after the meetings — in the hours no one sees
- →Managers who will not tell their own boss the team cannot absorb the next project
- →Anyone who has been 'waiting for things to settle down' for longer than one quarter
- →People who said yes last time because the timing was not right and now it is never right
- - People looking for a therapist — this is operational, not clinical
- - People who want Travis to have the conversation for them
- - People whose only move is to quit this week — this is not an exit package
- - Anyone who needs HR or legal counsel for harassment, discrimination, or contract disputes — get a professional
You will walk into one high-stakes load conversation with facts, a tradeoff, a single ask, and a fallback if they say no.
The conversation is won or lost before it starts.
Every module is readable in 8–12 minutes and ends with one exercise you complete before moving on. No video required. The brief is built by Module 03.
The three ways people lose before they walk in the room — and why feelings are not the brief.
Translate 'I'm drowning' into observable load: roles, hours, commitments, what has already slipped.
Build a one-page document — facts, impact, tradeoff menu, the single ask, and what you are not asking. Hard cap: one page.
A five-part structure for the first 90 seconds. Three example openings: boss, skip-level, client.
Five reactions — 'everyone's busy,' 'be a team player,' 'we'll revisit,' silence, 'you're being difficult' — and the next sentence for each.
A no is data. The fallback: one thing you stop, one you delay, one you will not pick up.
Written summary, fallback execution, midweek check, review date on the calendar. Done means a date exists.
This program stays focused on load, tradeoffs, and one ask — specifically with a boss, client, or stakeholder when the stakes feel like your job. If you also need the broader framework for any hard conversation (opening structure, listening under pressure, relationship repair), that is the Tough Conversations Guide.
Five things you will have by the last module.
Not insights. Not awareness. Deliverables.
A one-page Capacity Brief — facts, current load, what breaks if nothing changes, the ask
A 60–90 second opening you can say out loud before you walk in
Three likely reactions mapped with a prepared response for each
A written fallback for what you will stop, delay, or not pick up if the answer is no
A 7-day follow-through checklist so nothing drifts back to where it was
Start the brief.
Every week you wait is another week the load is the same and the conversation has not happened. The program is immediate access.
- 1) Complete Module 01 and 02 before anything else. The brief has no data if you skip the snapshot.
- 2) Build the Capacity Brief in Module 03. One page. Hard cap.
- 3) Write and time the opening in Module 04 before the conversation.
- 4) Prepare the fallback in Module 06 before you walk in the room — not after.
- 5) Execute the 7-day stabilizer in Module 07 regardless of how the conversation goes.
- - 7 modules with exercises
- - Capacity Snapshot worksheet
- - Capacity Brief template (one page)
- - Opening script builder
- - Reaction map + fallback planner
- - 7-day follow-through checklist
